What's New with CAP

  • CAP currently has commercial, manufacturing and warehouse space available. Below market rate rents are available to businesses that create jobs.

  • CAP President Karl S Pnazek was the keynote speaker at a conference on Rural Community Development sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago held in Stevens Point in July.


  • In August, CAP was awarded $1 million in New Markets Tax Credit proceeds by the M&I Bank's Community Development Corporation. M&I was awarded the credits by the federal Department of Treasury, sold them and is investing $1 million of the proceeds into CAP's Business Loan Fund. These funds will be loaned to business start-ups or expansions in certain designated census tracts in a five county area.


  • An open house was held in September for CAP's newest initiative, the Wautoma Welding Training Center. The Center is a collaborative of CAP, Fox Valley Technical College, the Wautoma School District, Waushara County and the Fox Valley Workforce Development Board. The Center offers welding training to participants in CAP's Fresh Start Program, students from Wautoma High School and community members. It is located in one of CAP's business incubators in Waushara County.


  • CAP broke ground on two new senior housing projects in Iola and Adams in September. The projects are funded through a combination of Low Income Housing Tax Credits and federal HOME funds.


  • The School Sisters of Notre Dame renewed their $50,000 investment in CAP's Self-Employment and Housing Loan funds at 1% annual interest for five years.


  • In September CAP was awarded $107,505 by the WI Department of Justice to support its domestic violence and sexual assault victims services program.
