Established in 2002, Ministry Dental Center grew from a partnership of Saint Michael’s Hospital, Delta Dental of Wisconsin and CAP Services. The vision for the Center is to offer a “dental home,” where patients continue to seek both treatment and preventive care to maintain and improve their oral health. Ministry Dental serves persons enrolled in Medicaid or BadgerCare who live in Portage and Waupaca counties.

There continues to be great demand for the Center’s services. There are about 26,000 persons enrolled in Medicaid or BadgerCare in the Center’s service area and the waiting list for services generally averages about 1,400 people. In 2007, a goal was set to serve all the children then on the wait list, and proudly, that was accomplished in October, 2007! Currently there are no children on the wait list.

The Center continually seeks ways to meet this demand through expansions and increased efficiencies. It has added a dentist, more dental hygienists, dental assistants and support staff. The graph below reflects the Center’s growth since 2002.
